Privacy notice
How Chur Websites handles your information when you use our site, make a purchase checkout, or contact us.
This notice was reviewed on 2026-10-07.
1. What we collect
From the contact form: your name, your email, an optional business name, your message, whether you asked for a free website preview or something else, and any Build or website preview you were looking at.
With each enquiry we also record your effective tracking choices at send time. When Analytics or Advertising is on, we also record how you found us: the first page you landed on, the referring website’s name, and campaign codes in the link you followed. If Advertising is on, we may also keep click and browser IDs and your browser User-Agent on our server so we can complete that one Meta send. See Tracking choices.
Stripe collects your legal contact name, business name, email, phone, billing address and payment details.
Please do not send passwords, domain transfer codes, or other access details through the contact form or checkout.
2. How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and follow it up.
- To learn which pages and ads lead to preview requests and paying projects, only as far as your tracking choices allow.
- To take payment and set up your care.
- To register and manage a new domain in your name.
- To complete the build of your website.
- To host, maintain, and support your website.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting duties.
3. Who we share it with
Stripe processes payments and holds your customer and subscription records.
Cloudflare hosts your site and its request handlers, stores the enquiries you send us, and sends our email.
When we use Google Sheets for our working list of enquiries, it holds the enquiry details we need to follow them up. That operational list is part of answering your enquiry. It is not one of the optional Analytics or Advertising choices below.
When Analytics or Advertising is in use and the matching choice is on, PostHog (EU) or Meta receives the limited information described under Tracking choices.
We do not and never will sell your personal information.
4. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry text and related records in our systems, and in Google Sheets when that working list is in use, until we remove them by hand. There is no automatic deletion for those records. That includes any optional advertising matching IDs and browser User-Agent we store on our server for a permitted delivery.
Uploaded contact files expire 90 days after upload. File metadata can remain after the file is gone.
When Analytics is in use, PostHog (EU) keeps free-plan product analytics events for up to one year under its event retention.
When Advertising is in use, Meta may keep Event Data for up to two years and may process it in the United States, the EU and other countries under the Meta Business Tools Terms and the Meta Data Processing Terms. That Event Data period is not a claim about every Meta product or audience.
We also keep information for as long as the law requires.
5. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you. Use the contact page and we will reply within 5 working days.
6. Browser storage
We use browser session storage to remember your build, care plan, billing interval, domain and website preview reference while you move around checkout.
Your tracking choices are kept in this browser’s local storage and reload with the same preferences. When Analytics is in use and on, we also keep a random analytics ID and session markers there, with tab markers in session storage. While either choice is on, we keep your first landing page and permitted campaign and referrer details in session storage. With Advertising and its matching site setting on, Meta sets its own cookies (_fbp, and _fbc after you click a Meta ad). If this browser blocks or fails local storage, optional tracking stays off until storage works again.
A first-party cookie remembers which preview-button wording you were shown, and that wording is sent to PostHog only if Analytics is on.
7. Tracking choices
Analytics and Advertising are optional, separate, and on by default when this site has the matching setting switched on. You can turn either off independently below. Your enquiry works the same either way, and the confirmation you see after sending does not depend on either choice. We do not record your screen or make session recordings, and we never send what you type into the contact form to PostHog or Meta.
Analytics sends PostHog (EU) page visits, best-effort page exits and time on a page, preview request clicks, form starts, the type of any form error, accepted preview requests, and, if you request a preview, whether it later became a paying project and the amount we recorded. Random IDs group visits into browsing sessions and connect an accepted preview request to its session, not your name or email. Page URLs do not include query strings or fragments.
Advertising tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) about the marketing pages you view on this site, and once when a Preview Request succeeds, from your browser and from our server, so the same request is counted once. It sends no other events and no sale details. The browser Pixel request can expose your IP address, cookies, page URL and ordinary request headers to Meta. For matching, our server Conversions API uses the permitted click and browser IDs (fbc and fbp) available on your accepted request and its real User-Agent. It does not add an IP field or contact-form contents.
These optional services run only when we have switched the matching site setting on and the matching choice is on. If a site setting is off, turning a choice on does not send events to PostHog or Meta.
Turning a choice off stops its new optional tracking in this browser and removes its analytics ID, session and tab markers, or reachable Meta cookies and click ID. It also asks our server to stop future optional deliveries for enquiries linked to this browser. IDs permitted by the other choice stay while it is on; turning both off also clears stored first-entry data. Saved off choices stay off when you reload this browser. This does not erase enquiry records we already hold, Google Sheets rows, email we already sent, or information PostHog or Meta already received. Use the contact page to ask us about access or correction.
